ITINERARY
Day 1) Tuesday - April 10 - 2012 - DEPARTURE:
Departure today from Toronto airport, boarding your International flight and connecting flight to TEL AVIV. You will be met by your tour Chaplain, welcomed and assisted with boarding. En route you will be served dinner and breakfast.
Day 2) Wednesday - April 11th 2012 - TEL AVIV:
Following connections today you will arrive at TEL AVIV. Here you will be met by representatives of Travel Time and your guide with waiting coach. From here we will transfer to JERUSALEM, hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3) Thursday - April 12th 2012 - MOUNT OLIVES / BETHLEHEM:
Breakfast - This morning we will drive to the MOUNT OLIVES for the magnificent view of the Old City, visit the CHAPEL of ASCENSION, CHURCH OF THE LORDS PRAYER, walk the PALM SUNDAY ROAD to GETHSEMANE and the Church of All Nations. We will continue to BETHLEHEM for MASS at the SHEPHERDS FIELDS and a visit to the CHURCH of the NATIVITY. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4) Friday April 13th 2012 - MOUNT ZION - NEW CITY:
Breakfast - This morning we will drive to MOUNT ZION to visit David's Tomb, the UPPER ROOM and CAIPHUS HOUSE where Peter denied the Lord three times. We will visit DORMITION ABBEY, following lunch we visit EIN KAREM to visit the area where John the Baptist was born, YAD VASHEM, memorial to the holocaust and the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are on display. A visit to the model city will reveal the Old City of Herod's period. Return to our hotel for overnight and dinner.
Day 5) Saturday - April 14th 2012– MASSADA / QUMRAN CAVES / DEAD SEA:
Breakfast - Today we depart, driving through the Judean Hills to QUMRAN where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered by a shepherd boy in 1948, continue to MASSADA to see the cisterns, storehouses used by the zealots who were defending this last stronghold against the Romans. Time permitting swim in the Dead Sea before returning to our hotel for dinner.
Day 6) Sunday - April 15th 2012 - OLD CITY / HOLY SEPULCHRE:
Breakfast - Today is a walking tour (comfortable shoes). Entering the Old City by Herod's Gate, we will visit SISTERS OF SION, the PAVEMENT, CHAPEL OF THORNS, walk the STATIONS of the CROSS (Via Dolorosa) to the CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE (MASS) view the TEMPLE MOUNT and WESTERN WALL. Time permitting - browse in the many shops before returning to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7) Monday – April 16th 2012 - JERICHO / BETH SHEAN / NAZARETH:
Breakfast - This morning we will drive through the JUDEAN HILLS to JERICHO to view the MOUNT of TEMPTATION, ELISHA'S FOUNTAIN and "where the walls came tumbling down". Continue to BETH SHEAN and view the extensive ruins where Saul and his sons died. Continue to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8) Tuesday - April 17th 2012 – NAZARETH / MT. TABOR (Transfiguration)
Breakfast - This morning we will visit the CHURCH OF THE ANNUNCIATION (MASS). Time for some shopping , visit ST. JOSEPH CHURCH and view MARY'S WELL.
This afternoon we will drive to MT. TABOR, traditional site of the Transfiguration, Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 9) Wednesday - April 18th 2012 - SEA OF GALILEE / CAPERNAUM / CANA:
Breakfast - CRUISE on the SEA of GALILEE to visit CAPERNAUM, visit TABGHA, MT of BEATITUDES for MASS. Afternoon visit to BANIAS and Caesarea Phillipi. On our return drive visit CANA of Galilee where Jesus performed His first miracle at the wedding feast. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 10) Thursday – April 19th 2012 - HAIFA / MUHRAQA:
Breakfast - Today we will visit MOUNT CARMEL & MUHRAQA where Elijah confronted the "prophets of baal". Visit Haifa with its magnificent view of modern day harbor overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Time permitting - visit the CHURCH of ELIJAH. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 11) Friday - April 20th 2012 - MEGIDDO / CAESAREA:
Breakfast Morning departure to MEGGIDO to visit the ruins of the final battle called ARMAGEDDON. We will visit the excavated remains of the mighty fortress and Solomon's Stables, walk through Ahab's Tunnel and then leaving here for Caesarea Martima, named after Caesar. It was here Cornelius became the first Gentile convert and was baptized and Paul embarked for Taursus. Philip preached here as well. Continue to our hotel at Netanya for dinner and overnight.
Day 12) Saturday - April 21st 2012 - LEISURE:
Breakfast - Today is yours for relaxing, swimming or visiting along the seashore. Dinner and overnight.
Day 13) Sunday - April 22nd 2012 – DEPARTURE |
